Passive component is a kind of electronic component. Because there is no power supply in it, the response to the electrical signal is passive and obedient. The electrical signal can only pass through the electronic component according to the original basic characteristics, so it is also called passive component.
There are three main types of passive components: capacitor, inductor and resistor, which are the most basic electronic components.

Capacitor

Capacitors are the most common basic electronic components. They store and release electric energy in the form of static electricity. They are isolated between the conductive materials at the two poles by media and store electric energy between them.

Inductor

Inductor is a component that can convert electric energy into magnetic energy and store it. Its working principle is that when alternating current passes through the wire, alternating magnetic flux is generated inside and around the wire. Its main function is to isolate and filter the AC signal or form a harmonic circuit with capacitors and resistors.  Inductors can also be divided into self-inductor and mutual inductor.

Self-inductor

When current throung the coil, a magnetic field will be generated around the coil. When the current changes, the magnetic field around it also changes accordingly. The changed magnetic field can make the coil itself generate induced electromotive force (induced electromotive force) , which is self-induction.
The electronic components with a certain number of turns and can produce a certain self-inductance or mutual inductance are often called inductance coils.In order to increase the inductance value, improve the quality factor and reduce the volume, the iron core or magnetic core is often added.The basic parameters of inductor include inductance, quality factor, inherent capacitance, stability, current and working frequency.The inductor composed of a single coil is called self-inductance, and its self-inductance is also called self-inductance coefficient.

Mutual Inductor

When two inductive coils are close to each other, the magnetic field change of one inductive coil will affect the other inductive coil, which is mutual inductance. The size of mutual inductance depends on the degree of coupling between the self-induction of the inductance coil and the two inductance coils. The components made by using this principle are called mutual inductor.

Resistor

A resistor is a two-terminal electronic component made of resistive materials, which has a certain structure and limit current in the circuit.

Therefore, the resistor can be used as an electrothermal component to convert electric energy into internal energy through the resistance of electrons between atoms.
Resistors are mainly divided into fixed resistor, variable resistor and special resistor (mainly including sensitive resistor), of which fixed resistor is most widely used in electronic products.
